Specialty: : Preparation and development of electrochemical sensors and biosensors.
Graduate in Chemistry at Universidad de Santiago de Chile (1999). He received his Doctor’s degree in Chemistry from the same University in 2004.
He currently works as an Associate Professor at Faculty of Chemistry – Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Dr. Armijo does research in the field of Electochemistry. Today, his research is done in his laboratory of Bioelectrochemistry and Corrosion and it is focused on the design and characterization of new electronic materials to get biosensors and sensors. Moreover, through electrochemical techniques, he studies the films or biofilms created in different materials used in fishing, shipping and mining industry.
