Specialty:Pulsed Power Technology,thermal plasma and its applications.
Physicist of Gauhati University in India (graduate in 1993 and Master in 1996. He received his Doctor’s degree in Experimental Physics of Plasma at Centre of Plasma Physics of Gauhati University in 2004. He currently works as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Physics of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Dr. Bhuyan does research in the field of Experimental Physics of Plasma and its application in materials science. Today, he works in radiofrequency discharge, capillary discharge and focus plasma. His knowledge has allowed him to work with a variety of students who want to get their academic degree.

- Pulsed Power Techonology
- Z-pinch technique and radiation emission from focus plasma discharge, including X-rays and ions emissions. Ions applications in materials science.
- Capillary discharge: plasma properties in plasma sources and hollow cathode effects. Intensive applicación of plasma jet in materials science.
- Radiofrequency discharge: properties of basic RF plasma and applications of RF plasma to material science
- Production of plasma laser and its application in material science.
