Dr. César Sáez assumes the position of Director of CIEN-UC
CIEN-UC has appointed Dr. César Sáez as its new Director. With a distinguished career, he will lead the Center towards new challenges and opportunities, focusing on collaboration. We thank Dr. Samuel Hevia for his invaluable contribution as the previous Director and congratulate Dr. Sáez on his new role.
The Center for Research in Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials (CIEN-UC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. César Sáez as its new Director. Dr. Sáez, who is a professor in the Department of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering at the School of Engineering, takes on this important role following a distinguished career in research and academia.
Dr. Sáez’s appointment was formalized by a Rector’s Decree, following a unanimous decision by the CIEN-UC Board, composed of the Deans of the three Faculties that make up the Center and the research directors of each Faculty. This appointment marks the beginning of a new stage for CIEN-UC, full of challenges and opportunities.
Dr. Samuel Hevia, who led the Center until now, recently assumed the position of Dean of the Faculty of Physics. During his tenure, Dr. Hevia played a key role in the development and advancement of CIEN-UC, significantly contributing to positioning the Center as a reference in the field of nanotechnology and advanced materials. We deeply appreciate his dedication and leadership and wish him much success in his new role.
Dr. Sáez stated that he will lead CIEN-UC’s future processes in a collaborative and transparent manner, with the aim of strengthening the Center’s research lines and enhancing its institutional belonging. “I am confident that together we can build an even stronger CIEN-UC, committed to excellence in research and the development of advanced materials and nanotechnology,” said Dr. Sáez.
